We had such a wonderful time camping at Kakabeka Falls. 

Although the rain put a little bit of a damper on things, (pun intended) we so enjoyed the company of each other, Cornhole, hiking, board games, shared food, lots of laughs, and even roasting marshmallows over a propane burner.

On Sunday morning, Pastor Peter and his wife Louise led the group in a devotional, and Matthew and Kim led in music. Matthew even played the violin.

If you missed it this year, it's worth considering for your calendar next year.

We will be holding a celebration of life for Jessie Anderson at Grace Place on August 22nd. Everyone is welcome to attend.

We're looking forward to a volunteer fair at Transformation Church on August 30th.

As summer winds to a close and fall is on the horizon, we are needing "eager beavers" to sign up to help out in various ministries at the church. 

Please stay after the service to meet the team leaders and sign up in some way to participate at the church.

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. (Romans 12:11)

Last week, during our Sunday sermon, we closed the Old Testament and opened up the New Testament. We saw that on the first page of the New Testament, Jesus is said to be a descendant of Abraham and a descendant of David. God is faithful. He keeps his promises. Enter Jesus — Son of God and Son of Man — who would make Abraham's family a blessing to the nations. Here is the One with an eternal throne and kingdom.

What's more, recall that long-standing desire of God's: that the family of Abraham would be a kingdom of priests? This week, we learn how that becomes a reality.

There are a couple key texts for our sermon this coming weekend. Read Acts chapters 1–2. Read 1 Peter 2:1–10 and Ephesians 2:19–22. What do you see?

Do you see a temple? The place where God's presence dwells? Where is that temple?

Do you see a kingdom of priests? Who are those priests?

Are you the priest? Are you the temple? If so, what does that mean? Prayerfully, consider those implications.
